Table 1 shows the number of rheumatologists per 100,000 inhabitants in each of our country's autonomous regions, and in total. The figure for the whole of Spain is a rate of 2.0 rheumatologists per 100 inhabitants. Cantabria is the autonomous region with the highest rate at 4.0 rheumatologists per 100,000 inhabitants, and Castile and León has the lowest at .6 rheumatologists per 100,000 inhabitants.

The results of the study undertaken with the SER member database, assuming 95% of affiliated rheumatologists, establish a rate of 2.14 rheumatologists per 100,000. This means, in practice, that there is stagnation in the availability of rheumatologists in Spain.
